Incredible Year-Round Equestrian Venue Boasting No Rainouts

The eighty-acre Great Southwest Equestrian Center can host a variety of events for any equine discipline. With more than a half million square feet of covered arenas, stables, pavilions and support buildings, Great Southwest Equestrian Center is the ideal facility for year round activities, regardless of the weather.

Located on the west side of Houston, Great Southwest Equestrian Center is easily accessible from Interstate 10 or the Grand Parkway. The surrounding area offers every possible convenience, including great restaurants, hotels, shopping and much more.

Great Southwest Equestrian Center has the ability to host multiple events at one time, due to the size and layout of our rings. In addition to equine events, it is a great place for a company picnic or a chili cook-off.

The Texas Children’s Hospital Arena Club has a view of both the indoor arena and the show grounds. This venue is available for meetings, social events, weddings, parties and hospitality associated with horse shows. The Arena Club includes a new caterer’s pantry and a large built-in bar area. With a maximum capacity of 250 people, the TCH Arena Club is a perfect place for a social gathering or celebration.

The Main Arena is 150 feet by 300 feet indoor with seating for 4,000 spectators. Adjacent to the Main Arena are two 100 feet by 175 feet. covered arenas. The East Arena is a second indoor measuring 125 feet by 250 feet with an attached 125 feet x 125 feet warm up area. There are four outdoor all weather arenas, each 125 feet x 275 feet, and opening this fall, a third indoor arena, the Tellepsen indoor arena.

The Center has room for approximately 1,200 show stalls. There are 96 RV slots for those that wish to bring their home away from home and stay on the grounds. There are both 30 amps and 50 amps available and include water and electricity with dump stations nearby. There are concession stands, office space, and vendor areas.

Year-round, Great Southwest Equestrian Center is home to a wide range of local and international horse shows and events including, the National Reining Breeders Classic (NRBC), the second largest reining show in the world, which they have successfully hosted for the past ten years.

Great Southwest Equestrian Center also hosts The Pin Oak Charity Horse Show, one of the country’s most prestigious equestrian events as well as Arabian, Dressage, AA Hunter/Jumper, Reining and American Quarter Horse Association Shows.
