Anderson, Westfall and van Grunsven Added to Schedule

The National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) is excited to invite all equestrian enthusiasts to the John Deere Reining Arena during the 2010 AlltechR FEI World Equestrian Games (WEG), September 25 – October 10, in Lexington, Kentucky, where they can hone their horsemanship skills and attend demonstrations from some of the world’s leading NRHA and American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) horse trainers and top competitors. NRHA is proud to announce new additions to their demonstration schedule: Clinton Anderson, Stacy Westfall and Anky van Grunsven. These renowned equestrians will be featured the second weekend of WEG, so make plans to attend today!

Stacy Westfall, “Road to the Horse” champion and clinician famous for her bareback and bridleless freestyle reining routine on her mare Whizards Baby Doll, will give a Reining demonstration on Thursday, September 30 from 2-3 p.m.

On Friday, October 1 from 2-3 p.m, Anky Van Grunsven, the current grand prix freestyle dressage world champion and three-time dressage Olympic Gold Medalist will share her knowledge of “western dressage” by giving a Reining demonstration with top NRHA competitor Rei. Van Grunsven is also representing The Netherlands in WEG reining competition aboard Whizashiningwalla BB.

Clinton Anderson, of Downunder Horsemanship, will take a break from his popular Walkabout Tour to host an NRHA Ride A Reiner event at the arena on Saturday, October 2 from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Ride A Reiner gives visitors, with some riding experience, the opportunity to test-ride the speed and finesse of a reining horse. On Sunday, October 3 at 2 p.m., the popular Australian clinician will lead a Reining demonstration, followed by a second opportunity to “Ride A Reiner” with him at 3 p.m.

Ride a Reiner, AQHA Test Rides, and the AQHA/NRHA demonstrations take place several times a day at the John Deere Reining Arena during WEG. No matter what skill level, AQHA, NRHA and John Deere are committed to giving WEG visitors an experience they won’t soon forget. Applications to ride can be found in the NRHA/AQHA Booth in the Games Trade Show Pavilion.
