With the support of over 1.3 million patrons who attended the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo this past February, along with numerous sponsors and the over 5,000 loyal volunteers, the Rodeo will commit another $8.5 million towards education. This brings the total contributions since inception to a staggering $105 million. This amount represents scholarships, grants, endowments, junior livestock and art auctions, Calf Scramble program, and show premiums paid to youth in the State of Texas. Keith Martin, Executive Director and CEO, made the announcement during the organization’s Annual Life Member meeting, May 18th.

“This is what the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo is all about,” said Mr. Martin. “With the support of our community, our volunteers and our sponsors we are proud to have reached this milestone in our history.” Mr. Martin continues, “We feel that there is a spirit of giving in each and every person and it is important for San Antonio and the state of Texas to know that we care as an organization and we are here to support our commitment to the youth of Texas.”

The San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo has proudly built a reputation as one of the best professional rodeos in North America, an amazing value in complete entertainment, and the world’s largest Junior Livestock Show. However, these major accomplishments pale in comparison to the impact the organization is having on the future of Texas and the lives of thousands of Texas youth striving for higher education and learning.

The organization produces the largest single event in San Antonio. It is held on the AT&T Center/Freeman Coliseum grounds during the month of February. The 62nd Annual San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo will be February 3-20, 2011.

The San Antonio Livestock Exposition (S.A.L.E) is a volunteer organization that emphasizes agriculture and education to develop the youth of Texas. It exists due to the hard work, dedication and passion of its life members, corporate partners and more than 5,000 volunteers who embody the organization’s core values of integrity, caring and excellence.
