STFR TO HONOR DISTINGUISHED VOLUNTEERS AT DIRECTOR EMERITUS PRESENTATION

Austin, Texas, October 1, 2009 – The Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo/Rodeo Austin will be honoring five of its distinguished volunteers who have been granted the lifetime achievement status of Director Emeritus. The Director Emeritus membership is the most distinguished honor that can be bestowed upon a Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo Board Member and is reserved for those who have achieved the highest level of exemplary service and leadership. Recipients will be honored and presented with a Director Emeritus award plaque at a reception on October 12th from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Tarry House in Austin. The following Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo volunteers will be inducted into the Director Emeritus Class on Monday October 12th:

– Jimmy Callahan: 1983 Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo President

– Verlin Callahan: 1973 Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo President, current member of the Board of Directors

– Jay Evans: 1979 & 1985 Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo President, current member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors

– Bill Knolle: 1984 Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo President, current member of the Executive Committee and Board of Directors

– Ted Nagel: 1981 Star of Texas Fair and Rodeo President, current member of the Board of Directors
