Smart Chic Olena Earns Another Achievement

Oklahoma City, Oklahoma – October 16, 2009 – The smart money is often in the progeny of Smart Chic Olena whether it be in the Reining, cutting or cow horse pen. The stallion showed his prowess through his offspring when he first became an NRHA Million Dollar Sire in 1999. Now ten years later, Smart Chic Olena (Smart Little Lena x Gay Sugar Chic by Gay Bar King) continues to prove his progeny’s power and is NRHA’s third Five Million Dollar Sire with $5,006,800 in offspring earnings.

The 1985 stallion was the 1993 Open Reserve World Championship under Craig Johnson, in addition to garnering Gold and Silver Certificates with the Association. The 2004 NRHA Hall of Fame inductee is owned by Jim Babcock of Valley View, Texas. In AQHA competition, Smart Chic Olena earned World Champion honors in both Senior Reining and Cutting.

His leading NRHA offspring include: Smart Spook ($336,600: NRHA Open Futurity Champion; NRHA Open Derby Champion; two-time FEI World Reining Masters Champion; AQHA Junior Reining World Champion), Smartest Chic Olena ($129,061: NRBC Open Champion; Intervet/USET Reining All Star Champion; USEF Festival Of Champions Reining Champion), Commandalena ($112,700: AQHA Senior Reining World Champion; USEF Fiesta in the Park Reserve Champion; NRHA Derby Open finalist) and Chic Please ($108,100: NRHA Open Futurity Champion; two-time NRHA Derby Open finalist).
