RamboR Micklem Bridle approved by FEI Dressage Committee

October 14, 2009 (Kinston, NC).The FEI Dressage Committee has tested and fully approved the HorsewareR Ireland RamboR Micklem Bridle for immediate use in international dressage competitions where a snaffle is allowed. The fast track approval was based on the FEI belief that any equipment development that is in the interest of horse welfare should be a priority. The FEI testing panel included British Dressage Chef d’Equipe Richard Davidson and Margit Otto-Crepin, who was European champion and Olympic Silver Medalist with Corlandus. The bridle was used for the first time in the dressage section of FEI horse trials at the recent international events at Blair (Scotland), Necarne (Ireland) and Gatcombe (England). The RamboR Micklem Bridle approval by the FEI marks an unprecedented addition to the International Rule book.

The RamboR Micklem Bridle gives riders and trainers a horse friendly option to the routine use of tight cavesson nosebands which can be anatomically painful and counterproductive because of the possible numbing of nerves leading to the mouth. It has other advantages for training use only, including the ability to be used both as a lunge cavesson and bitless bridle in its Multibridle version with a tongue protection feature. There is also a new high specification Competition version now available for use as just a bridle.

The RamboR Micklem Multibridle, recipient of the innovation award for best new tack product at BETA International in 2008, was designed by international coach William Micklem FBHS, who developed the bridle from the inside out using the shape of the horse’s skull. William Micklem is author of the best selling The Complete Horse Riding Manual published by Dorling Kindersley, and specializes in young horse production and breeding of event horses, including Zara Phillip’s High Kingdom and Karen O’Connor’s Olympic horse Mandiba. The bridle is manufactured and distributed worldwide by HorsewareR Ireland. Tom MacGuinness, owner of Horseware, said, “We are delighted to bring this product to the market place as it confirms Horseware’s commitment to innovation and excellence.”

The RamboR Micklem Bridles are available in the USA through authorized HorsewareR Ireland dealers. For the one near you visit  www.horseware.com or call 800-887-6688.
