TOP 10 IDOLS SET TO DUKE IT OUT FOR THE CHAMPIONSHIP OF THE 2009 EXTREME MUSTANG MAKEOVER

SEPTEMBER 18, 2009, FORT WORTH, TEXAS – Yesterday following the $25,000 2009 Extreme Mustang Makeover’s Idol In Hand and Horse Course competitions, mustang The Black Roman and trainer Stacie Krohn Poessnecker of Herman, Neb., took the lead with the most total points as the Idols head into the Top 10 Finals today. Just behind The Black Roman and Poessnecker are mustang Solomon and trainer Ethan Lee of Pine Grove, La., going to the finals in second place. Mustang Good Time and trainer Logan Leach of Tuscon, Ariz. will enter today’s finals in third.

The Idol Finals will be a freestyle performance in which trainers and their mustangs can use props, music, and other theatrical methods to demonstrate the skills they’ve taught their mustangs in the last 100 days. Joining the three top finalists to compete for the championship and $3,000 are the following horse and rider teams: Surplus and Careen Hammock of College Station, Texas; Boy Named Sioux and Kristopher Kokal of Greenfield, N.H.; True Grit and Jessica Bailey of Lindale, Texas; Fist Full of Dynamite and Joe Weitekamp of Las Vegas, Nev.; Cletus of Cody Sewell of Pollock, Texas; Buddy Love and Allison Hembree of Lampasas, Texas; He’s All the Rage and Terri Lindley of Guthrie, Okla.

The public is encouraged to come see the Idol finals tomorrow at 4:00 p.m. in the John Justin Arena. All of the Idol mustangs, as well as all of the mustangs participating in the Extreme Mustang Makeover will be available for adoption on Sunday, September 20, 2009.
