Still time to register for ASHA National Expo and Championship Show and Three-year-old Futurity

ABILENE, Texas – Exhibitors still have time to register for the highly anticipated 2nd Annual American Stock Horse Association National Expo and Championship Show that will be held Nov. 19-22 at Lone Star Arena in Stephenville, Texas.

“We’re thinking this year’s show will be even bigger than last year’s inaugural event,” said Kim Lindsey, executive director of the American Stock Horse Association and Stock Horse of Texas. “Interest in this national stock horse versatility competition has been tremendous.”

Riders will compete for national titles and awards in stock horse versatility trail, reining, pleasure and working cow classes. Numerous awards will be given to riders in the competition’s open, non-pro, limited non-pro, novice, youth and green horse divisions. Jackpot money will be paid back in the open division.

ASHA continues to pull in record numbers at sanctioned competitions in Texas, Alabama, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Tennessee and Colorado. State ASHA affiliates continue to be formed. Exhibitors from some of these states are expected to attend the four-day national event.

New to this year’s format is the addition of the 3-year-old ranch horse versatility world championship futurity. The futurity provides an opportunity to showcase the talents of the young, four-event horse in stock horse trail, pleasure, reining and working cow competitions. Horses will compete in all four classes. The champion will be the highest-placing horse in the all-around. Almost 30 horses are already entered in the futurity.

A stock horse versatility clinic will be held prior to the national competition. The clinic will be conducted by some of the industry’s top clinicians. There will be four simultaneously run clinics in pleasure, reining, trail and working cow.

A trade show also will be held during the event. Trade show vendor requests are still being accepted. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. The national competition is hosted by Stock Horse of Texas and is open to any breed of registered or grade horse.
