Barrel Racers Jockey for Position at Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

By Susan Kanode for the Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo

FORT WORTH, Texas (Jan. 26, 2026) — Barrel racing standings tightened Monday night during Bracket 2 of the Fort Worth Livestock Show & Rodeo (FWSSR) ProRodeo Tournament, with fast times and fierce competition inside Dickies Arena.

Gibson-Stilwell Leads Bracket 2

Hayle Gibson-Stilwell of Redcrest, California, topped the leaderboard for the second straight round, blazing to a 16.11-second run—even faster than her round-one winning time of 16.43.

The first-time National Finals Rodeo qualifier advanced aboard her home-raised six-year-old palomino mare Buncha Dinero, known to fans as Piper. The pair now moves on to the Semi-Finals of the FWSSR ProRodeo Tournament.

Aldridge and Adios Close the Gap

Right behind Gibson-Stilwell is fellow first-time NFR qualifier Tricia Aldridge of Sanger, Texas. Riding her standout stallion Adios Pantelones, Aldridge placed second in both rounds, stopping the clock at 16.20 seconds Monday night.

Aldridge set a goal one year ago to qualify for major winter rodeos—including Fort Worth—and exceeded it by finishing the 2025 season as the reserve world champion. Adios Pantelones has earned more barrel racing money than any other stallion, building a fan base with each run.

Busby Heads to the Wild Card Round

Third place in Bracket 2 went to Andrea Busby of Brock, Texas, the defending FWSSR ProRodeo Tournament champion. A two-time NFR qualifier, Busby will advance to the Wild Card Round, where she’ll look for another opportunity to defend her title.

Lamb Breaks Through on Tarleton State Night

Tuesday night was Tarleton State University Night, and former Tarleton rodeo team member Kody Lamb of Sherwood Park, Alberta, delivered a clutch performance.

Needing a big score to advance, Lamb rode Smoke Show, owned by Dakota Rodeo, to 85.5 points, winning bareback riding and earning a Wild Card Round berth. Lamb is a four-time College National Finals Rodeo qualifier and holds a master’s degree earned during his time in Texas.

Tie-Down and Bull Riding Highlights

In tie-down roping, Zack Jongbloed of Iowa, Louisiana, claimed the round-two win with an 8.5-second run. Combined with a third-place finish in round one, Jongbloed advanced to the Semi-Finals alongside Kincade Henry of Mount Pleasant, Texas.

Bull riding proved challenging Monday night, as no qualified rides were recorded against the powerful bulls of Rafter G Rodeo.

What’s Next at FWSSR

Bracket 3 competition begins Tuesday night at Dickies Arena. Tuesday also marks Stock Show Goes Pink Day, benefiting the Careity Foundation in support of breast cancer awareness and research.
