The success at the Vermont Summer Festival continued for Lene Bruheim as she campaigned her talented mounts in the jumper and hunter rings. The talented junior rider scored top ribbons in the Children’s Jumpers and the Large Junior Hunters for her family’s Nordic Lights Farm. Bruheim competes under the tutelage of Missy Clark and John Brennan from North Run Farm.

During Week VI of the Vermont Summer Festival, Bruheim competed with her sister Erin Bruheim’s mount NLF Trans Atlantic for the first time. The duo proved to be very successful together, placing second in the $1,500 M&S Children’s Jumper Classic. Bruheim and her other new mount Anyway showed in the $15,000 Vermont Celebration Child/Adult Jumper Classic where they took home the third place honors. This past weekend, Bruheim also showed the High Children’s Jumpers with her long-time partner NLF Valhall. The pair placed seventh in the very competitive class for their excellent effort over the course.

NLF Trans Atlantic was awesome and so willing to please, I’m so lucky to have gotten to ride him this weekend,” smiled Bruheim. “Anyway was a saint and did everything she could to help me out in the $15,000 Classic. I am so grateful to have had them both so well prepared for the classes! NLF Valhall was stellar in our classes as well.

Bruheim added, “I am still in the process of learning my new rides, and I am also learning how to switch between them because they are all so different.”

In the hunter ring, Bruheim was aboard NLF Shakespeare’s Rhythm during the Large Junior Hunter division. The duo garnered three third place ribbons and a fourth place ribbon for their excellent effort during the division. Bruheim also competed in the WIHS Equitation classes, where she and Say No More received the eighth place award.

“NLF Shakespeare’s Rhythm was a super star this weekend and so solid in every round,” noted Bruheim. “I couldn’t ask for a better hunter mount. Say No More was a trooper this weekend as well and so amazing, I am so happy with all of them and how they’re going, and I am also thrilled to have the North Run team helping me with all of the horses!”

Bruheim will continue competing with North Run trainers Missy Clark and John Brennan throughout the year. They will now travel to Southampton, NY, to compete during the prestigious Hampton Classic.

Nordic Lights Farm is a 70-acre establishment located in Tomball, TX, and was founded in 2007 by the Bruheim family to help further the equestrian goals of 18-year-old Erin Bruheim and 16-year-old Lene Bruheim. Both girls have worked their way up through the ranks and are currently competing at the top levels in the hunter and jumper divisions aboard their incredible string of horses.
