Nordic Lights Farm Jumps to Success at Fontainebleau

May 16, 2011 Off By Roberta Johnston

For the second time now, Eirin Bruheim of Nordic Lights Farm had the opportunity to compete internationally, this time at Fontainebleau, France. Bruheim traveled to France at the beginning of April to train with Edouard Couperie of Barbizon, France. Over the past two weeks, Bruheim has had very successful results with her talented mounts. The first week, Bruheim and Cicero 75 perfected a clear effort in the first CSI** Prix Ville De Fontainebleau, which qualified them for the CSI** Grand Prix Café Le Breban. The duo eventually finished 12th out of 75 riders.

Bruheim and Qarco V’T Merelsnest competed in the CSI* Prix Of To On and had a clear round, and they also qualified for the CSI** Grand Prix Cafe Le Brebant. The pair showed in the CSI* Grand Prix CWD with just one rail to finish up the week. With her third and final mount, NLF Transatlantic, Bruheim completed a clear effort in the CSI ** Prix Fromagerie Rouziare.

The second week was full of more success for Bruheim. Cicero 75 and Bruheim once again had a clear round in the CSI** Prix Ville Fontainbleau Groupe I, which qualified them for CSI** Grand Prix Eads. With Qarco V’t Merelsnest, Bruheim showed in the CSI** Prix Ville Fontainebleau Groupe I and had a fault-free effort, qualifying them for the Grand Prix on Sunday. Bruheim and NLF Transatlantic produced two clear trips and placed sixth in the CSI* Prix CWD Groupe II and the CSI* Prix on to off Groupe II and qualified for the Grand Prix.

“This was a good two weeks for my horses and for myself,” commented Bruheim. “Transatlantic jumped fantastic as did all my horses. Overall my stay in France has been amazing and I couldn’t have wished for anything more.”

Next week Bruheim and her mounts head to Germany and will be competing there for a period of time, while her sister Lene will be competing with North Run in the United States.

Nordic Lights Farm is a 70-acre establishment located in Tomball, TX, and was founded in 2007 by the Bruheim family to help further the equestrian goals of 18-year-old Erin Bruheim and 16-year-old Lene Bruheim. Both girls have worked their way up through the ranks and are currently competing at the top levels in the hunter and jumper divisions aboard their incredible string of horses.
