No Glitz, No Glory: Event Celebrates Unique Western Style

April 21, 2011 Off By Roberta Johnston

Elton John, step aside. From over-the-top looks and unending style, country music and Wild West entertainers led the way with an array of rhinestone, metallic boots and fringe from here to there that continue to set the standard of panache in the industry today.

Celebrating that unique style is the National Cowgirl Museum’s “No Glitz, No Glory Exhibition,” which will open with an evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres Wednesday, May 18, at the Museum in Fort Worth’s famed cultural district. Festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $60 per person with complimentary valet parking.

The Museum will display some rarely seen artifacts from its collection of dazzling clothing and tack. Entertainment by the Craig Chambers band will serve as the background to engaging conversation, shopping among select vendors and the crowning of the best dressed King of Bling and Queen of Sparkle.
