Nearly $1,000,000 in Cash and Prizes Up for Grabs at the Expanded Colorado Summer Circuit

A thrilling summer at The Colorado Horse Park will be highlighted with nearly $1,000,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs during the inaugural edition of the expanded Colorado Summer Circuit, June 8-July 24, 2011. For 20 years this circuit has attracted some of the continent’s best hunter and jumper competitors, and this year it expands to six weeks.

Riders will find more than just bigger paychecks. Pat Boyle and Showplace Productions will offer exhibitors their trademarked five-star hospitality, while CHP is busy creating an exciting slate of new amenities. The Grand Prix ring is currently under construction and brand new footing is being installed. New jumps, new gardens, a competitor’s lounge and other facility improvements are just a few of the items receiving a makeover.

“This year riders will see a whole new Colorado Horse Park,” explains Brian Curry, General Manager of CHP. “We are working closely with Pat and his team to deliver a summer that every rider will remember.”

In addition to the visible improvements to the Park, competitors will find an optimized and consistent schedule that offers more opportunities to compete at all levels, with more prize money distributed throughout the sections.

“Of course we will have a Grand Prix each of the six weeks,” Pat Boyle says, “but riders are going to find that the payout in their classic is bigger no matter what height they jump. We are talking about over $75,000 being distributed to junior/amateur competitors alone, with great money for the classics in modified children’s/adult, low children’s/adult and children’s/adult too. In addition to the Grand Prix, open jumpers have a weekly $10,000 Welcome Stake, and we are planning speed derbies, match races, and even a four bar competition.”

Lest the hunters feel neglected, there are also classics in every division from short stirrup to open hunters for all six weeks. Among the highlights are two $10,000 USHJA International Hunter Derbies and two $5,000 USHJA 3′ Hunter Derbies. Week six will also be a WCHR-member event.

Pat continues, “It’s important to us at Showplace, and CHP, that riders at all levels and in every division feel special.” Everyone will get to ride in the “big rings” at the Park for their special classes. “We’ve also taken a new approach to the schedule. Nobody wants to ride in the same ring for six weeks straight.”

Attention to the customer’s needs and desires is the hallmark of Showplace Productions and will be the keystone for the new Colorado Summer Circuit. Mark your schedules now for June 8- July 24, 2011.
