Andrea Fappani Breaks the Two Million Dollar Mark
October 28, 2010The combination of Scottsdale reining shows and Andrea Fappani has always been fruitful. Over the years, he has excelled in Scottsdale and repeatedly made landmark NRHA achievements there. Back in 2000, Fappani racked up his first NRHA aged event win in the Scottsdale Classic Level 3 Open Futurity. Then later at the 2006 edition, Fappani landed in the NRHA record books as the first European rider to break the NRHA million dollar earnings mark while placing first, second and fourth in Arizona. Now in 2010, Fappani felt sweet success again as he took the championship, tied for third and placed fifth for winnings in excess of $24,000. Those earnings aboard Nics Little Bud (Bill Coburn), Colonels Shining Gun (Rancho Oso Rio) and Litn Up Conquistador (Tish Fappani) pushed Fappani to the next level making him NRHA’s newest Two Million Dollar Rider. Fappani’s NRHA earnings now total $2,016,000.
Fappani is a perennial finalist at the NRHA Futurity, NRHA Derby, National Reining Breeder’s Classic and other NRHA major competitions. Fappani earned the 1997 NRHA Futurity Limited Non Pro championship, and 2000 NRHA Futurity Intermediate Open championship, became the only European rider to win the NRHA Futurity’s Open Division in 2001 and won the 2007 NRBC Level 4 Open division. The NRHA Top 20 Professional resides in San Marcos, California, with his wife Tish and two sons Luca and Jeremy. After the first of the year Fappani and his family will relocate to Scottsdale where he will manage the training, breeding, and showing program for Pat and Jim Warren at Rancho Oso Rio.
