Performance Horse Advanced Skills Clinic

Three prestigious Greater Houston area horse organizations have joined forces to jointly sponsor a premier equine educational opportunity on Saturday, June 12th, 2010 at the Waller County Fair Grounds Covered Arena.

The Greater Houston Horse Council, The Waller County Horse Council and the Agri Life Extension Service of Texas A&M University, have secured the services of Dr. Doug Householder who is presenting a Performance Horse Advanced Skills Clinic. He holds a Ph.D from Texas A&M, with 30 year’s work in the field of animal science including work with 4H & FFA, He is a respected Clinician, Speaker, Trainer, and National ,Equine Judge.

This outstanding clinic will cover Equipment and Training Aids, Suppleness, Departures, Circling Dynamics & Speed Control, Lead Changes, Rollbacks, and Backing. A horse welfare vs. abuse session with a Q&A opportunities follows. Current Negative Coggins certificate required.

6 Professional Speakers will present a WHOLE HORSE HEALTH FAIR:

LOREN HARDIE – Presenting on Equine Dental Health and Nutrition.

BONNIE McAREE – Presenting on Body Balance and Body Mechanics of the whole horse.

DARREN STONER – Creator of the Perfect Bit presenting on bit mechanics and maximizing performance and comfort.

TONY DINGIANNI – Certified Journeyman Farrier speaks on Corrective and Orthopedic issues of the horse.

BONNIE WNENKOWSKI – Presenting on Correct Body conformation of the different breeds and disciplines.

ELAINE KNAPE – Veterinarian, Haslett, Tx speaking on current Equine Health Issues.

Under saddle Performance Slots $100 per horse/rider team

Spectators are encouraged to attend, $10 Adults, $5 under 18 years of age.

Note: Event goes on RAIN OR SHINE! All activities under roof in the large covered arena including a dozen fine vendors and a food concessionaire. A beverage table is also available.
