Margie Engle Tops Hagyard Challenge Series Standings After Six Grand Prix Events, Pablo Barrios Ranks in Second

Series Finale Scheduled for Kentucky National Indoor Horse Show

Lexington, KY – August 24, 2009 – With just one grand prix remaining in the 2009 Hagyard Challenge Series, Margie Engle of Wellington, FL, ranks in first place with 760 points. Pablo Barrios of Caracas, Venezuela, is not far behind, currently occupying second with 740 points. The Hagyard Challenge Series is a summer-long string of seven show jumping events at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. Offering $215,000 in total prize money, the series will award its leading rider with a $50,000 Leading Rider Bonus after the final class in the challenge, the $50,000 CSI-W Lexington Grand Prix.

The $50,000 CSI-W Lexington Grand Prix is scheduled for September 18, 2009, at the Kentucky National Indoor Horse Show. Kicking off at 7:30 p.m., this World Cup Qualifier will be the very first grand prix held in the new indoor arena at the Kentucky Horse Park. All spectators are welcome and are encouraged to fill the stands.
