On Saturday, March 12, the LSU SVM Student Chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (SCAAEP) will host Equi-Day from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine (LSU SVM). Equi-day is an event dedicated to providing educational opportunities to horse owners about equine medicine, as well as supporting SCAAEP. This event will be filled with numerous informative speakers, as well as demonstrations and lunch is provided.

The registration fee is $25, but goes up to $30 on the day of the event. This money will be used to support the SCAAEP, which includes wet labs for students to get hands-on experience with ultrasound, dentistry, bandaging, stallion management and more before they begin their hospital rotations. The lectures will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in the LSU SVM Auditorium and include lectures on horse nutrition, equine first aid and vaccinations, among other topics. The demonstrations will follow lunch and will be in various locations throughout the LSU Veterinary Hospital.
